MD CODES™ Advanced Injection Technique
The MD Codes™ were developed by Dr. Mauricio de Maio, a celebrity plastic surgeon from Brazil. The MD Codes™ are a revolutionary set of anatomical injection points that have transformed the field of medical aesthetics. They were developed by Dr. Mauricio de Maio around 2011, and their last revised publication was in October 2021. The codes provide physicians with a structured approach to achieve specific outcomes in their treatments.
Each code is identified by a unique combination of letters and numbers and is accompanied by detailed instructions on injection technique. This standardized aesthetic language has greatly improved the treatment planning process between injectors and patients worldwide. The MD Codes™ methodology has been widely embraced, leading to predictable and reproducible results, raising the standard of medical education in facial aesthetics, and enhancing patient safety.
One of the key applications of the MD Codes™ is the 8-point Lift™, introduced by Dr. Mauricio de Maio. This procedure involves the precise injection of small amounts of hyaluronic acid gel into specific structural points on the face. The aim is to lift, contour, and restore a more youthful appearance by addressing areas such as sagging cheeks and jawline, hollow infraorbital areas and tear troughs, nasolabial folds, oral commissures, and marionette lines.
